JULY 2008

July Meeting of the Zion
Computer Club
The July workshop at the ZION CENTER COMPUTER CLUB in Toronto Canada met
on Thursday July 24th 2008. Pamela Tabak's main topic for the July workshop was E-MAIL.
Pamela explained about E-Mail Etiquette, Security, Shortcuts and many other
features that make using E-Mail more interesting. Other subjects that were
discussed were Pictures in Email, Using HTML or Plain Text and their advantages
and disadvantages, making webmail "Bookmarks" for e-mail addresses, using the "Webding and Wingding" fonts in Excel
and Word, using the "Tabs" in Internet Explorer 7 and making a "Multiple Home
Page." There were interesting questions from the floor and everyone agreed that
many new features were learned not only by the Novice members of the group but
by the more proficient computer users.
The evening
ended with a FREE raffle of an informative book called "The Internet for Dummies"
won by Petra Horopw who said that it was a perfect gift that will assist her to
better understand the features of the Internet.
