Folders are essential for organizing the files on your computer. Without folders you will find it difficult to find the file or document that you are seeking.

To create a folder on your DESKTOP:

  1. Right Click in a space on your Desktop.
  2. Left Click on New (figure: 1)
  3. Left Click on Folder
  4. When the new folder appears the name will be highlighted in blue. (figure: 2)You do not need to delete the default name "new folder" because this will disappear as soon as you start typing the name of your folder.

Think about the name for your folder carefully so that you can find it easily. You can always change the name of your folder at a later date by Right clicking on the folder name and choosing Rename. The name of the folder will once again be highlighted in blue and you can begin typing the new name. (The old name will disappear as soon as you begin typing.)

To create a folder on your MY PICTURES: Follow the instructions above.
