What will you do when the lights go out?

Your Apple iPad will save you every time!

Your iPad Will Save YouHave you ever had a power cut in your home that affected the whole town where you reside? I am experiencing this right now so I decided to write my newsletter to share my thoughts with you. It’s 9.15 pm and its pitch black all around me. I have not switched on my lantern yet because I want to save the battery since I do not know how long the “blackout” will last.

Now you are wondering how I am writing this article when I have no light. Did I light a candle or an oil lamp? Not a chance! I am writing this on my Apple iPad. With its bright backlight and 10 hour battery, I have plenty of time to write this newsletter, read a book or magazine, listen to music or watch a movie that I have already downloaded. I do not need to be connected to the Internet to enjoy any of these so the power cut is not making my world stand still. I can catch up on all the things that I have put on the back burner.

To save my 10 hour battery, I turned off all the APPs that are running in the background and lowered the brightness of the screen to a comfortable level. If I didn’t own an iPad I would have little to do when all the lights went out. I can even use my iPad as a flashlight by switching to the “multi tool” app that uses the back camera as a flashlight, I have this APP on my iPhone as well. The “multi tool” APP has a mirror and a magnifying glass in addition to the flashlight which makes it a handy APP to add to your devices.

You can use a multitude of APPs without the need for electricity until your iPad battery needs charging again in about 10 hours. Of course, if you have a cellular service as well as Wi Fi on your iPad, you can use email and the Internet if your server is still up and running.

Having an iPad replaces so many devices that we needed before the iPad was produced that we can start to give away or dispose of the surplus peripherals that we will never use again.

Thinking of buying a new computer? Don’t waste your money! Just replace it with an iPad; it does everything that a computer does and then some.
