Listed below are the questions that Pamela feels will be helpful to most users, from beginners to the more advanced.

How can I print just part or one page of a website instead of the many pages it contains?

With the web page open click on FILE >PRINT PREVIEW. The first page of the website will appear andPrinting a page show you, on the top right, how many pages are in the article.

Click on the page view and choose the number nearest to the number of pages in the article.

The next screen will show you all the pages the article contains.

When you have decided which page you wish to  print add this page number to your Print Box and place a bullet next to the selection. If you wish to print just one paragraph of the webpage: Highlight the paragraph and when you bring up your Print Box place a bullet next to Selection. 

Note: If you do not highlight the paragraph “selection” will be greyed out.

Why can’t I print my Excel document when I can print from other documents?

There are several reasons why a document does not print but if you check the “Print Preview” and it shows a blank page then it is probably because you have saved the document as a “Read Only” document.

To verify this check the “Title Bar” and see if it states that the document is “Read Only” as shown below.


If it shows “Read Only” make a copy of the document or recreate it and save it under another name.

How can I print part of an Excel Spreadsheet?

1. Highlight the cells that you wish to print.

2. Use the shortcut CTRL + P  to bring up the printer box.


3. Click on the “down arrow” next to “Print Active Sheets.”

4. On the “Drop Down” select “Print Selection.”   Then Click PRINT.



How do I clear the Printer Queue in Windows 8?

1. Right-click the bottom-left corner of the screen and select “Run.”

2. In the text field, type “Control Printers” and click “OK.”

3. Under “Printers,” right-click your default printer and select “See What’s Printing.”

This shows a list of print jobs that are in the queue.

4. Click “File” and select “Cancel All Documents.”

If you continue to see print jobs in the queue, restart your computer.
