How do I delete my trash folder on my iPad email?

It is very important to delete the contents of your trash folder on your iPad email as often as possible just like you do on your PC. It’s a quick and simple process to perform by following the steps below:

    1. With your email open click on “Mailboxes” at the top left of your screen.
    2. Scroll down to “Accounts” and click on your email account. This only applies if you have more than one email account on your iPad. If you only have one email account on your iPad the “Trash” folder will show in the first set of folders.

I have cellular service so why can’t I get my email when away from Wi-Fi?

Check your WiFi signal by going to “Settings” then “WiFi.”

If you see an “unsecured” connection that has a “strong” signalStrong WiFi

If you see an “unsecured” connection that has a “weak” signalWeak WiFi

Your device tries to connect to WiFi first and will continue to do so without changing over to “cellular” even if the signal is weak. In order to switch to cellular, when the WiFi signal is weak, you will need to “turn off” the WiFi in “settings.” Your 3G, 4G or LTE will then take over and you will be able to work with your email and search the internet.

Why do I need to update my operating system on my iPad and iPhone?

You need to keep your iPad operating system up-to-date at all times. You will get a notification on “settings” when new updates are available; similar to the way you get update notifications on your computer, if you still use one.

If you do not download and install the updates you will not benefit from all the new and exciting features that it offers and your device may begin to malfunction.

Why doesn’t my iPad add a capital letter automatically at the beginning of the next sentence?

For Paragraphs: On your iPad and iPhone you just need to hit the “RETURN” key to go to the next line in your email and the “SHIFT ARROW” gets darker. This will produce a capital letter at the beginning of the next paragraph.

For Sentences:  At the end of each sentence just hit the “SPACE BAR” twice and it will produce a “period.” This “period” tells the iPad to create a capital letter at the beginning of the next sentence.

NOTE: If you are using a Bluetooth keyboard with your iPad or iPhone, the above will not happen automatically. You will need to tap the “Shift” arrow to create a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence and add the “period” manually the way you do on your computer keyboard.

How do I resize pictures on my iPad before emailing them?

Some Internet Providers limit the size of emails that they allow you to send. If you attach pictures to your email they may exceed the size that your ISP allows. In order to reduce the size, when sending emails from your iPad, follow the steps below:

1. First attach your picture to your email by accessing them from your “Picture Folder.”

2. Once the email screen pops up with your picture showing, click on “images” as shown below:

Add Picture to Email

3. Choose the size from the selection that appears as shown on the image below:

Choose Image Size on iPad

4. Add your “Recipients Email Address,” “Subject Line” and “Message.”
Then click “Send.”

If the size of your email is within the ISPs guidelines your email will be sent. If you receive a message that the email is too large, reduce the size of the pictures by following the instructions above.

Why does my iPad Screen Lock Up when I open an App?

It can be very frustrating when your iPad gets locked up or freezes but luckily there is a simple way to fix it.

When an iPad becomes stuck or frozen, it tends to be an issue with multiple apps conflicting with each other or you have forgotten to close open apps after using them.

To fix this problem simply reboot the iPad and usually this will be enough to cure the problem. This flushes the iPad memory and shuts down apps that may be causing problems. You never need to worry about your data because it will be saved.

To reboot the iPad, simply hold down the “Sleep/Wake button” at the top of the iPad and the round “Home button” at the bottom, at the same time, until the iPad shuts down. When you open the iPad again it should perform normally.

If you are experiencing more problems please feel free to contact me.

The iPad Sleep/Wake button is the small, black button at the top right-hand corner of the iPad; primarily used to put the iPad to sleep or to wake it up.

The iPad “home button” is the small, circular button located at the bottom of the iPad as shown below.
